Congratulations to Hayley Price of Builth Wells and Glenys Williams of Cradoc who won the Gross and Nett trophies at Cradoc Golf Club on Saturday 22nd April in the Spring Meeting.

The 38th Annual General Meeting was held at Llandrindod Wells Golf Club on Sunday 6th November. Minutes were agreed and reports read. Along with welcoming new committee members Ellen Jones (Vice Captain), Sue Jones (Treasurer), Heather Hughes (Marketing and Publicity) and Beverley Beck (Committee Member) we said farewell to our long serving Treasurer Sheila Saer and Secretary Lyn Price.

Sheila stepped into office in 1986, she was also team Captain 1989-1990 and President 2008-2011. Lyn has been our Secretary since 2006. We thank then both for their dedication to MWCGA, as a small token of our appreciation they were presented with MWCGA engraved glass clocks, a voucher and boquet of flowers.


The 2016 Handicap League Final was played at Llandrindod Wells Golf Club on Sunday 2nd October. Congratulations to our 2016 Winners -

The Mixed Greensome was played at Cradoc Golf Club on Sunday 25th September 2016, below are the trophy winners pictured with Lady Captain Jacqui Wilding.


Our County Team pictured below before their 3rd and 4th place play off match against Denbigh and Flintshire in the 2017 County Finals. This years winners were Monmouthshire with Glamorgan taking the runner up spot. The County Finals were played at Prestatyn Golf Club on Sunday 18th and Monday 19th September.

Our Girls County Champion, Harriet Evans (Aberdovey) represented Wales in the Girls Home Internationals at Conwy this month. Seen above taking a selfie with some of her team mates.


Congratulations to Llinos Lloyd of Dolgellau Golf Club for winning 'The Welshpool Crystal' in our Stableford Competition held at Dolgellau on Friday 13th May 2016. Many thanks to Dolgellau for hosting and running the competition - a very warm welcome was received by MWCGA.

Congratulations to Sadie Dewinton Davies of Aberdovey Golf Club on becoming our 2016 County Champion. Sadie played excellent golf over the weekend in tough and physical conditions. Sadie also won the Sue Sherman trophy for the best gross in qualifying round with a score of 83. Harriet Evans also of Abedovery Golf Club received the Meg Bowen Brooch for the best nett in qualifying round with a score of 81.

Chris Hughes from Builth Wells won the Championship Plate in a tough final against Sue Jones of Welshpool Golf Club winning on the twentieth hole.

Following a well attended AGM on Sunday 1st November 2015 our new committee is now in office.

Cradoc were victorious over Borth & Ynyslas to lift the 2015 MWCGA Handicap League Shield at Llandrindod on Saturday 3rd October.

Congratulations to Ronnie Creswell of Cradoc for achieveing her first hole in one during the match.


Pictured above is the winner of the Judy Ray Salver, Sharon Roberts (Cradoc) who shot a great 153 to become the 2015 Welsh Ladies' Senior Open Runner-Up, 3 shots behind the winner, Jane Rees of Minchinhampton.

The Open was played at Porthmadog in very testing conditions - reductions only on both days. A total of 10 players entered from Mid Wales clubs

Many congratulations to Sharon who was selected to play for Wales in the Senior Ladies' Home Internationals.
