With a forecast of heavy rain we made our way to Llanymynech on Sunday with trepidation. The early teams had the best of the weather and some even managed to get in before the heavens opened and the fog came down. Scores are over 15 holes accordingly.

Congratulations to Hayley Price on winning the best gross trophy in the Stableford and to Catrin Pugh Jones on the nett salver at yesterday’s MWCGA competition. Well done to all the divisional winners and to everyone else who played. Thanks you to Builth Wells GC for hosting the Autumn meeting. The weather was kind and the course was in fantastic condition. Next up is the Ladies Greensomes at Borth on the 14 September. Get your entries in!

The Spring Medal was held at Penrhos on the 21 April 2024. Congratulations to Sara and Mair on winning the Gross and Nett and to all the other prize winners and players. Thank you also to Penrhos for hosting us.

Congratulations to the winners from St Giles/Aberdovey and well done to everyone who played in the Teams of 3 Waltz at Cradoc CG on the 3 August. Thanks you to Cradoc for hosting us.

Thank you Welshpool for hosting the Team of 3 Scramble on 21 July. There was only 0.4 separating the top two teams! Congratulations to Hayley Price, Lindsay Jones and Sandra Hodnett who pipped Ellen Jones, Sherrie Edwards and Chris Hughes into second place. A team from Welshpool were third, and Lakeside, fourth. Well done to everyone who played.

Held on the 25 June 2024. The course was in good condition and played well, and mostly the players avoided the heavy showers.  Our hosts at Brecon couldn't have been more welcoming - from the Ladies' Captain and the ladies who ran the competition, to the caterers and bar staff - and it was a very happy day.

Mid Wales County Golf Association would like to thank Aberdovey Golf Club very much indeed for their warm welcome hosting the County Championships this weekend. The course was superb and the hospitality and organisation second to none. Our new County Champion is Sarah Rees Evans and the Plate Winner is Alex O’Brien. Heartfelt thanks to everyone at the club and to the referees, all the competitors and supporters on making this such a fantastic event. Hats off the weather too, I think it’s fair to say it played a big part in our enjoyment this weekend!

A beautiful, warm October day welcomed the MWCGA 3-ball Texas Scramble at Welshpool GC on the 8th October. Congratulations to the Builth team of Lindsay Jones, Hayley Price and Sandra Hodnett who came out victorious! Well done to all the winners and thank you to Welshpool for hosting us.
